I have to take siesta daily to be able to get the gardening done effectively. Sometimes just a sitdown with an ice tea under the crabapple tree is enough. Sometimes a nap.
Planted seed corn along the trellis with swan gourds. All the plantings are mulched. We are getting the soaker hoses out. It is dry! Hoping for some rain this week.
One Spice bush is looking dry and may have died. The others are leafing in as are the Pawpaws, Osage Orange, Buttonbush, Carolina Silverbells, all leafing out slowly. Those Carolinians take their own time.
Sold some plants yesterday. Still have lots. especially tomatoes!
The natural plant swath under the red maple continues to change- Autumn Crocus leaves still good, Virginia Bluebells and Trilliums starting to fade, Canadian Columbine starting to bloom, Alliums opening up.
Excited to watch the Jacks-in-the-pulpit develop and Pinella develop their spathes.
Nanny bush has berries!
I think I love anemones!
